arrived in redmond after a traverse of the cascades. pretty hillocks and even eastern WA is kinda pretty, although a great deal drier than western WA.
but, before getting to redmond i spent the night in everett. had wanted to visit the boeing factory, which, unfortunately, doesn’t allow photos. aside from the planes, the most interesting thing about everett was the hotel that i stayed in. seems that a number of rooms next to mine each contained a young woman and some number of skinny, mustached, smoking lads who spent most of the evening driving said young gals to some unknown location, returning w/o them, then retrieving them some 60 minutes later. i guess it would be called a “take out” service.
the weekend was with danny and sally and the kids. upon arrival danny informed me that the kids were just getting over some flu-like sickness and that he was coming down with something. i thing it appropriate here to offer my great thanks to danny for exposing me to some H1N!-like disease that was running rampant in his house, after all , what are friends for? fortunately, i seem to have avoided whatever virus it was, as weeks later, no sickness.
had a great time with dan and sally. we went pumpking picking with the kids. (thank god danny made everyone take gloves, despite the fact that other than he, none were worn…) we did hike up to some neat waterfalls with a couple of cub scouts, emmett and joe (whenever in doubt regarding someone’s name always use “joe”.)
more than great to see the danny and the sally, and, they have the world’s greatest kids.
