zion is far more interesting than one might think. like denali, the park runs a shuttle bus service and like denali its discontinued during the winter season. as a result you can drive your own vehicle into the park which is what i started to do. but after a mile or so i realized that there are very few places to park when one sees a “wow i need to take a pic of that”. i backtracked a mile and found a place to park and took down my bicycle and rode into the park which allowed me to stop anywhere and snap away with the camera.
the rocks in this place are spectacular.
the variations in the striations were non ending.

this rock is so important that the park service has to keep it chained-up.
