i and the nieces went to disney world, a.k.a. disney-lines, a.k.a. disney-virus. we stayed with barb and the two katies (sp?) in ocala for the first night or two and then went to orlando and hotel-ed it for a couple nights. (ocala is a farm/ranch community, lots and lots of horses and acreages — much nicer than south florida.)

this is a park in ocala. spring fed river, temp about 72 year round, very clear water. evidently one can tube and canoe it, but its only a few miles long. still its pretty.

same park as above. they claim that this waterfall is 60' tall. i suspect that if that measurement is started 45' underground it might be true. i figure its just another example of the "fine" public educational system of florida.

same park. bird fishing in the clear water.

at barb's place there be horses. well, mini-cooper versions of horses.

more minis on barb's place.

my niece, antoinette.

the nieces, roberta and antoinette, walking the mean streets of disney-lines. actually, it wasn't so bad. antoinette has the "science" of disney sorted out. we flitted from one side of the park to another and from one venue to another, the result of which was that we never waited in line for more than about 5 or 10 minutes. when it comes to disney, antoinette has it all down; now, if she could just learn to drive...

nieces, picture-ing each other.

random disney crowd part 1. (there are several parks in disney world, we only went to the one as we only had one day, and, for $80 bucks a day per person...)

random disney crowd part 2. interestingly enough, very few black people seem enamored of this part of disney world. not sure why that is, but, as i recall disney has always had a problem marketing to black people. (probably leftover racism.)

we also saw beauty and the beast. oh boy!
