i spent several days in the national archives doing research on the boat that my father served on during ww2. i was able to locate the ship’s logs, after action reports, intel reports and war diaries. the plan is to include them on the website about the boat (www.pt127.org).
beyond a doubt, the people at the national archives were, from the security guards to the research specialists, to the lunch counter folks, the nicest, most helpful fed employees i have ever met.

the national archives II, just north of DC. on this day, a saturday, i was able to park on top level of the parking garage. (bike is back in the hotel room.)
