following the bike trip i returned to auckland and spent a couple of days before hitting the road in a four wheeled vehicle rather than a two-er.
very few pickup trucks in NZ (or, AU for that matter), instead they have "utes".

but, along the dusty road you'll find a few ancient lava flows.
