King’s Canyon

by BDK

after arriving in alice springs i grabbed the rental car and headed out towards uluru (ayers rock). along the way i stopped at kings canyon national park for a few days.

despite the greenery, temps were between 85 and 100 during the day. and, it seemed everything was in bloom.

it was a hot hike up to the top of the rim. but once there the trail wasn't too bad. passed a number of very hot and tired people along the way. i had plenty of water and sipped as i went along.
notice the bird?
looked pretty barren.
but then this guy showed up.
shallow water ripple patterns left in the sandstone.
believe it or not, this a species of pigeon.
even the birds were hot.
a little water, and tada!
me and my...
everything was in bloom! seed pods here.
