Many Heads

by BDK

uluru national park has portion of it called Kata Tjuta — “many heads”. it doesn’t get anywhere near the traffic that uluru does, but its a pretty interesting place unto itself.

it was much hotter than it looks. walking into the canyon it seemed the rock walls on each sides radiated even more heat.
it had rained a few days prior and there was running water. not much, but enough to bring to life a number of critters
one of them was this amazing frog. hard to imagine.
first red dragonfly i've ever seen, bug would have like it.
a better view.
with the heat came the flies. they are moderately pesky critters. they don't bite. i think all they are interested in is either salt or moisture. i didn't mind them as long as they stayed out of my mouth and nose. there were, however, a number of tourists with head nets on.
