Only The Best!

The first couple of nights in Kenya were at a Guesthouse. That was an effort to keep average nightly costs down. The problem with Nairobi is there are three ranges of places to stay. The high-end ($200-$500), the mid ($50-$100), the low ($8-$50). It’s tough to find a “mid” that has decent reviews. There are no chain/name brand mids here. There are name brand highs.

The place I stayed at had good reviews. And, in all honesty it wasn’t really that bad. Very nice staff, great wifi, great breakfast included. But as you’ll see in the following pics/posts, it had its draw backs too.

None of which was a bother. However the place was a death trap. Steel bars on all the windows, zero smoke detectors, locked steal gates on the doors. Someone was on duty at night but they also went to sleep by 2am. Spent two not so sleepy nights there. Canceled my reservations for my stay next week. Had to go upscale…
