In Kenya, like the UK, vehicle registration numbers (license plates) are assigned once and remain with the vehicle forever. The numbers shadowed on my sleeve are from the etching on the window and are the vehicle’s registration number. The numbers appear on all the windows and mirrors. Evidently stolen auto glass was a big problem.
