It’s been a couple months since the last concert. Nice to be back in Western Civ, there is only so much Bollywood music one can take.
Interesting concert hall, the Musikverein. They have seating for audience on stage with the band. Weird, but why not?
The band is the Mahler Chamber Orchestra. Not bad. Young group. Horn section seems bit weak–or, that may just be a symptom of European orchestras. Heard some Beethoven (Egmont op84 and Symphony #7), Haydn Horn Concerto, and, also oddly, a piece for banjo and orchestra by Gruber—my first classical banjo, it was HORRIBLE.
