Went hear the French National Orchestra. Maybe it was an off night. They really weren’t that good. The hall is ugly and acoustically mediocre. Nonetheless they did a pretty good job with Beethoven’s violin concerto. But their 5th by Beethoven was stale and had a couple big mistakes.
Tuesday is the Berlin Philharmonic. I expect that to be much better.
