Kiwi Parrot & Engineering

The road dropping from Arthur’s Pass unto the West Coast of the South Island. 16% grade, but only a few kms in length.

NZ’s Kea mountain parrot. Just about the same size as an Alaskan raven. And just about as big of a PITA. Except maybe more so as they no fear of humans. Noted for their destructive behaviors of pulling apart windshield wipers and car door weatherproofing. They ask people not to feed them, so, of course, people feed them.
