Beaver Creek 2016

by BDK

We took 13 days to canoe Beaver Creek. The trip starts just northeast of Fairbanks and runs about 300 miles to the Yukon River. Once on the Yukon it was about another 90 miles to get to the take out, which is at the bridge (built for the Trans Alaska Pipeline) that crosses the Yukon.

We saw a handful of moose and 10 or so Dall Sheep. We saw bear tracks, but no bear. Wolf tracks, but no wolves. We saw many birds including swans, geese, falcons, eagles, owls, ducks, and tweety birds.

Here are some photos and a movie from the trip. Of the 13 days we had 4 that were pretty much rain the whole time. The rest of the time we had mostly sunny days with afternoon thundershowers that sometimes included us in their showering, sometimes not.
