A True Kiwi

On my first trip to NZ I did a night walk in Trouson Park. I saw my first and only Kiwi bird. Most New Zealanders probably go their entire life without seeing the nocturnal and relatively rare Kiwi. 

There are a couple captive breeding programs for the Kiwi. Here’s a video of one of the elusive ground dwelling birds.
