I did the trip was to see an Andean Condor. There are only about 6,000 of these birds left. They can weigh 20-25 pounds and have the 2nd largest wingspan at around 10′.
I did have a couple of very good sightings. A mature (takes 8 years for them to be able to reproduce) adult and an immature bird.
