Did a full day tour with one of the local outfits. All in all it was pretty good. Saw lots of moai (the statues) and a couple of good ahus (platforms upon which the statues rest).
A fairly hot day, at least for me. I did put sunblock on, but I’m sure I sweated most of it off.
Highlight was a trip to the quarry where all the moai 🗿 were cut out. In a couple of days, when I have my own wheels, I’ll return.
AC Update! Turns out Cooper was on my plane coming here as I spotted him and his two man crew at the quarry. They were going out as we were going in. One of his crew looks like gorilla — security, I suspect, is part of his job. And yes! Even the “star” was hauling gear. I got a pic of his white hair and the gorilla. But, that’ll have to wait until the return to Santiago.
