For two days I rented a little two door Suzuki something. At $66 per day it’s my most expensive car rental ever. There is no car insurance on the island. So, one is completely liable for any damage to vehicles and people. In theory my AMEX card would cover damage to my rental car, but nothing else.
Luckily traffic, outside of the city, is minimal. In town the speed limit is 18mph and outside of town it’s 36mph. Mostly obeyed, with the exception of some motorcyclists.
Biggest hazard are the cows and horses that wander aimlessly about. When it rains the water pools on the roads, so the cattle, etc. make a bee-line to becoming traffic hazards.
