Flew LATAM to Calama. It’s about a 2 hour flight. At least a third of the plane was these guys, below. Miners on their way to the mines. They either had no luggage or a tiny daypack. The flight left Santiago at 4pm. Nonetheless, they were a tired bunch.

The plane was an A320-200, basically a small 737. At first I couldn’t understand why there was a hole in my armrest.

Then I realized it used to contain an ashtray. It had been covered over with some speed tape.
