I saw this rock in the desert with moss growing in it. Can’t be I thought. Moss? Then I figured it was lichen. Far more reasonable.
Then I got closer. No moss. No lichen. And, no rock.
It’s a flowering plant. I believe it’s an llareta, related to carrots.
Except, this ain’t no carrot. Beneath the buds and leaves is an incredibly dense “bush.” These things grow extremely slowly. Many are thousands of years old.
Weird. Just, weird. The desert.
