Did the trick. It helped that we landed about 12 minutes early.
Since I was in seat 2E I was the 3rd person off the plane and I power-walked the long way from the E concourse to immigration. Despite the fact that it was just after 5am there were a bunch of folks working their way through the immigration maze. But! There was the Golbal Entry entry. I had two folks in front of me. In 2 minutes I was through immigration and 5 minutes later past customs.
Made a left and instantly I was in the TSA Pre-Check “line”. I walked directly to the luggage scanner, and, done, in the D concourse.
If I didn’t have GE and Pre I’m not sure I would have made it. It would have been close. I didn’t count but there were lots of folks waiting in the regular lines.
Currently in the Lufthansa lounge in Detroit. I’ve a 5.5 hour layover here.
