I’ve had success over the years locating places where my father took photos during WW2. The exception is shown below.
I’ll still coming up empty on this one. At first I thought it was in front of a school, then I thought another mausoleum. But, I’ve learned that what it really is is a monument to Jose Rizal — the George Washington of the Philippines. Virtually every city and little town has a monument to him. There’s, oddly enough, even a park in Juneau, Alaska named after him.
The search continues. But given the battle damage to the structure I suspect it will be for naught.
