Still battling jet lag yesterday. Concert starts at 8pm. Figured I could just rest my eyes for 30 minutes or so at 6pm. Get up and grab a quick snack in the lounge before heading off to hear the band with plenty of time to spare. Awoke at 7:32pm instead. Dressed and out the door by 7:35pm. It’s about a 1 mile walk to the hall. Fortunately it hadn’t snowed and the sidewalks were mostly clear. Got there at 7:51pm. Tons of time to spare.
Mozart kv. 414 was the premiere piece. Followed by about 15 little mostly forgettable blurbs from movie soundtracks by some Polish composer. One was interesting, the rest were poor elevator music.
The Mozart was quite good. I think I’ve seen/heard the pianist before in another concert in the distant past. He’s very good. Has a thing he does where he slides off stage when exiting.
