Went to the national opera house for a performance of Die Fledemaus — The Bat — by Strauss. It’s a popular operetta, don’t know why as I find it mediocre. Still, at $14 for ticket it was worth a shot. Way up in the nose-bleed seats but still a good view and the acoustics were tolerable. All in all, meh. The best part was the fake bat they had flutter down from on high. I doubt more than a handful of folks saw it.

I may have been *slightly* underdressed —

Fiorello (Chico Marx):
“Ha ha ha ha ha ha … you can’t fool me. There ain’t no Sanity Clause.”
