Took the train from Nice to Milan. The French train shown below stops just inside Italy and everyone changes to the Italian train.
Arrived in Milan Central. A grand station built in the ’30s.
Then the following day took the train to Florence. Also a station built in the ’30s. What a contrast in architecture:
