I’m sitting on the bed checking email and watching the monkeys messing about in the tree just off my little porch. The pleasant scene is broken by softball sized rocks that start bouncing near the monkeys. Huh?!? Someone’s tossing rocks at the monkeys? After a couple minutes of this I get up to see who would be doing such a thing. Sure enough there are 6 guys tossing rocks alright. But monkeys aren’t the target—a 5+ foot cobra is! OK….
An hour ago the guy who showed me to my room told me it was safe to sit outside on the nice balcony. Borrowing a phrase from “Chef” of Apocalypse Now, “Never get off the boat…”
