4. Kakadu National Park
Australia’s largest national park. The “national” parks in AU are managed differently than the NPs on the states or O! Canada. Here, each state, eg. New South Wales or Queensland, manages the NP within their border. I assume there must be some common core, set at national level, of management, but I don’t know for sure.
So, a “NP” in the NorthernTerritory may be managed quite differently than a NP in Victoria. Odd things, by US standards, abound. For example, Kakadu “park” contains a huge uranium mine—15% of the world’s uranium is gotten here.
Nonetheless, the park is amazing.
