Did a day canoe trip on the Katherine River. There are two species of crocodile in Australia. The “freshies” are relatively small, 3, 4, 6 feet with small jaws. They eat fish and frogs and such. They can give a human some nasty bites but unless you are threatening them they pretty much are not a problem for swimmers or canoeists. Then there are the “salties”. They are quite happy to eat people and get very very large. I’ve only seen the freshies, which is fine by me.
Some pics of the Katherine Gorges, crocodile trap and giant fruit bats in the trees.
