The RAF Museum

It’s tough to have an airplane museum. The things are just so damn big. This was a good one in that it held some rather unusual aircraft. Many that I’d never seen or heard of before. Plus! It was free. But, the parking wasn’t.

Below, an experimental plane to see if having pilots in a prone position is a good idea, it wasn’t. The business end of a Polaris missile. A GA aircraft with zero ability to see strait ahead, also not a great idea. The aircraft with the flower on it is a Japanese suicide rocket. They were dropped by Betty bombers and then guided to the target by one of the Divine Winds guys. They weren’t very effective, I think they got one U.S. destroyer.
