Always carry a compass.
The only thing I don’t like about the iPod Touch is it doesn’t have a built in compass like the iPhone. Exiting a Metro or Tube station without knowing which direction to head is a pain. (The UKs are terrible when it comes to road signs, there often just aren’t any. Paris can be just as bad, especially at night.)
