This is Jim. (Although it’s likely that Jim is a female, we’re going with ‘Jim’.) Jim lives above my front door. When Jim isn’t hanging about his web, Jim hides in the doorbell box. Jim is about 1.75 to 2″ in diameter, leg to leg. I’m not sure what kind of spider Jim is, but so far he stays in his corner—I don’t bother him, he doesn’t bother me.
These little fellows are the 1mm ants that to the best of my ability to determine live in the wall of my guest bathroom. It being the tropics it’s necessary to either keep your trash outside, or, to make sure you wash anything before you place it in the trash that’s inside. I’m pretty careful with crumbs and such. So, the ants seem to be only mildly interested in my inside trash. As near as I can tell they mostly go outside for their foraging. Although if I leave a plate in the sink for more than 30 minutes they quickly discover it and I have a regiment of the little fellows marching to and fro.
