Back! To The Russian Market

I need a staple gun. The RM is a couple of city blocks worth of tiny teeny shops. There are a number of tourists that come every day, but mostly it’s a local market.

Why a staple gun? Stay tuned…

Why is it the “Russian” market?

After Vietnam invaded in 1978 and took control of Phnom Penh in 79, there was a large influx of soviets functionaries followed by soviet tourists in the 80s. This was their preferred place to shop. Thus, folks started calling it the Russian Market. The true name is Toul Tom Poung.

And, now, I’m off to Toul Tom Poung, searching for Velcro…
