the plan was to spend more time in the 4-corners region. but, wu is leaving for china soon and since i have not seen wu for 23 years i had to push on early to texas.
texas—the verdict is still out on the lone star state. the worst drivers so far on the trip. haven’t met enough people to get a general idea of them. the west of texas is pretty bad, scenery-wise, low scrub as far as one can see. no trees. kinda like the tundra, but not as pretty.
one feature of note, the “rivers” and “creeks”, 1 or maybe 2 out of 10 had water in them. is a river still a river if it lacks water???

they say this a radio telescope installation. least, that's what they say. hmm....

just north of texas in new mexico.

stopped at the "confederate air force" museum. actually, it now called the "commemorative air force". i guess someone decided that naming the organization after the anti-american, treasonous confederacy wasn't such a great idea after all.
