i entered eastern texas and the central-ish “hill country” and found something that was largely missing in western texas—water. with amazement i can report that the rivers and creeks in the central and eastern texas actually have water in them, which is a good thing, if one is a creek or river.
first stop was to see dave, a roommate from my undergraduate days at uaf. david was quite influential in my early days as a college student and the choices i made with regard to my college career; both of which he will always have my eternal thanks for. but, more importantly, he was a great friend.
the start of deck that dave and i worked on with varying degrees of success, but with much amusement — please note the central joist is exactly 1.5" too short for the space, "someone" made a mistake....
