Here…No, There!

I flew from Melbourne to Alice Springs. The plane was nearly full and I was unlucky enough to have an aisle seat next to a rather large fellow in the middle seat and his appropriately proportioned wife in the window seat. Luckily, by some act of the Fates, two rows up there was a completely empty set of three seats. Once the cabin door had been closed and the only aisle occupants were flight attendants I sprang forth to claim an aisle seat sans companions.

I picked up my rental car after taking the Tour de Alice Springs Hotels via the shuttle bus. It’s a Nissan SUV of some sort. I had reserved a Toyota Yaris and this thing is a definite upgrade.

Now, to the subject at hand…

Chief Wahoo at the Tropic of Capricorn. Well, sort of. The monument was built in 1988. The problem is the T of C moves. So, in the intervening 28 years the true T of C has advanced about 600 yards further north.  But, it’s the thought that counts!
