drove from peterborough to just east of cleveland in another, well, really the same, snow storm. visibility about a mile or less. road conditions were, however, fine, by and large—usually wet. but, for about 30 miles i did hit some ice and hard pack. but, in 4wd i was able to plod along and for the first time in a week i was passing everybody else.
got to niagra falls. had thought about spending the night there. but, with the snow there really wasn’t much to see. plus the hotels around the falls make the whole place rather unpalatable.
must admit that after seeing the falls of the nahanni few years back, niagra was somewhat uninspiring. however, to be fair, i suspect that if all of the water was going over the falls instead of the vast majority of it being diverted to turbines, things would be far more impressive.
