Years ago, in Hong Kong, I bought a pair of Bose noise canceling earphones. They are just great. They work so well that the plane’s engines and wind noise just pretty much disappear.
Alas, I left them in the seat when I flew from Santiago to Easter Island. Reported to LATAM and no big surprise, they weren’t turned in. About $250 now gone.
I brought two cameras on this trip. A nice little Canon that has quite a few bells and whistles. A “G15”. I also brought my Olympus “Tough” camera. I mostly use it for canoe trips as it is waterproof. I brought it for snorkeling in the Galápagos Islands — aquatic iguanas!
Alas, Number 2, my Canon is now a brick. An error code appears that the lens won’t function. Nothing I’ve tried gets it unstuck. Going to have to Google what a repair might cost. I may end up leaving it behind. 😒
Alas, almost, Number Three, took off this morning to go moai 🗿 hunting. Got damn near to the other side of the island when I realize I left my iPod behind in the room. Whipped the car around and headed back to towards the hotel. When I got there housekeeping was working on my room. The gal had picked up the iPod from the bed and placed it on the table, neatly arranged with my other stuff. When I leave Thursday I’m going to leave her 20,000 pesos.
This has been a rather inauspicious first month. Tech-wise.
