The Atacama Deserts is often called the driest place on earth. There are parts of it that there has never been any recorded rainfall. Ever.
I only visited a tiny portion of it. We got up to 14,000’ on one of the trips.
Deserts are interesting visually. But, I find their biology of greater interest. The ability of critters and plants to make living in those location is amazing.
