Ketchikan!

Flew into Ketchikan on Wednesday. It was like flying in the 70s — there were about 25 passengers on the 737-700:

The flight from Seattle to Ketchikan featured blue skies and endless views into BC.

It wasn’t until we got to Ketchikan that it became obvious that those conditions were left behind. Ketchikan was fogged in. Every place else? Clear. Ketchikan? Nope.

Nonetheless they lined up for an ILS approach. They aborted that landing and we did a go-around. Headed north a few miles and spent 45 minutes flying in circles. Flew over this landmark at least 6 times:

At last, give it another try. This time the approach was from the north.

Ketchikan is very much a tourist town during the summer. During the winter most of the stores/shops are closed. The “Creek”:
