Flying from Stockholm to Copenhagen is the plan. Three was to get to the airport from town. Cheapest, bus, $12. Second cheapest, commuter rail, $19. Most expensive, express train, $34. I do all three!
Flight is at 12:25, so take the $12 bus at 9AM. Everyone loads the bus and we are ready to go! Did I mention there is a snowstorm? Anyways, the driver comes on board and announces that due to the weather and accidents along the way it’s going to take 2-3 hours to reach the airport rather than 45 minutes.
OK, Plan “B.” Get off the bus and look for the train. Ride the express train to the airport.
110 MPH via Express train to airport:
All set. Arrive at 10AM. Look at the big board. Flight going out of Terminal 5. Walk to T5. Check the big board. Flight now cancelled. Later flights cancelled.
OK, Plan “C.” Commuter train back to Stockholm Central Rail Station. Buy train ticket to Copenhagen, $137. Five hour train ride rather than a 50 minute plane ride.
Riding the rails to Copenhagen:
Success!
