Very common to see roll shutters in all windows. Evidently, they use them to keep out the direct sun during the summer, and, to keep in the heat during the winter. I buy the former, but pass in the latter.
Also, it’s common to see bar guards in windows. But, given this pic is the 4th and 5th floors of an 8 story building, I don’t see much utility to them.
