They have a museum dedicated to it. The museum is very modern with lots of multimedia and an interesting layout. Poorly lighted, though.
The uprising was the largest such during WW2. The Poles hoped the Red Army, literally across the river, would support and join in. Alas, Stalin had other ideas. He was happy to let both sides slug it out. He wanted a weakened Poland to go along with his desire to defeat the Nazis.
About 25,000 casualties on each side. Close to another 200,000 civilians killed—mostly by mass executions courtesy of the Germans.
